The Bayou City Music Series, a new concert series presented by the Kinder Foundation, honors the great jazz, blues and zydeco musicians of Houston in free concerts taking place this fall at three parks: Discovery Green, Emancipation Park and The Water Works in Buffalo Bayou Waterworks Park. Emancipation Park and Discovery Green continues the Fall Bayou City Music Series with “Jazz in the Tre” featuring acclaimed jazz pianist and composer Jason Moran.
Students from the jazz program at High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA), Moran’s Alma Mater will open, along with Horace Grigsby, a legendary Houston jazz vocalist who performs in the style of Billy Erskine and Nat King Cole at the Historic Emancipation Park.
