Adopt a Piece of the Park

The Houston Parks and Recreation Department has several ways that you can make Emancipation Park your own.  Adopt a piece of the park as an individual, or an organization.

Greenspace Adoption oversees and coordinates the adoption of City of Houston. parks, sports fields, esplanades, parks, trails and greenspaces. Whether you’re with a group or business interested in active community involvement, we have a program that will fit your desire to improve the quality of our park system and public land.

  – Adopt-A-Sports Field – Welcomes organizations who wish to adopt a sports field in lieu of paying permitting fees associated with the use of ballfields.

  – Adopt-An-Esplanade – Welcomes organizations, homeowners associations and civic groups interested in providing long term support for the maintenance and aesthetic quality of esplanades/medians.

  – Adopt-A-Trail – Welcomes civic groups interested in providing long-term support for the maintenance and aesthetic quality of a portion of a trail.
